How do I write with Apple Pencil only?

Tap the hand at the top of the tool rail on the left. When it is off, your finger scrolls and only Apple Pencil draws.

How does Study Mode work?

Highlight a fact (or lasso it and choose Hide), then tap the graduation cap and choose Study Mode. Each highlight becomes a card: tap it, then grade yourself Forgot, Hard, Good or Easy. Home shows what’s due today.

How do I record a lecture with my notes?

Tap the microphone on the rail, or choose Lecture Note from the + menu to start a named note that records straight away. Later, Play with Ink lights up your notes as the recording plays.

My notes aren’t syncing between devices.

Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account on both devices, iCloud Drive is on, and iCloud is chosen in the library’s sidebar. Sync can take a few minutes on a slow connection.

Why don’t I see AI tools?

AI tools use Apple Intelligence on your device. They appear on devices that support it; turn on Apple Intelligence in Settings if they say it is off.

How do I import a PDF, Word or PowerPoint file?

Tap + in your library and choose Import Document, or share a file to Notenner from the Files app.

I forgot how to unlock a locked note.

Locked notes open with Face ID or your device passcode. If neither works, the note cannot be opened, for your privacy.
